Friendly: Black Queens slump to 2-0 defeat against Morocco [+VIDEO]

The women’s senior national team of Ghana were at the receiving end of a 2-0 beating by Morocco in an international friendly Tuesday night.

The Black Queens played guests to the upcoming 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) hosts at Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat.

Coach Mercy Tagoe’s ladies held the North Africans to a barren opening 45 minutes but got undone in the second half through a brace from Rosella Ayane.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker broke the deadlock in the 49th minute with a low strike from inside the box despite being close down by three markers.

Rosella returned to make it 2-0 and wrapped up the game for the Atlas Lionesses this time with a superb firm strike in the 76th minute.

Morocco used the game to test their preparedness for the 2022 Women’s Afcon on home-soil while it is the start of a team rebuild for Ghana who failed to qualify for the tournament scheduled for July.
