21 players on Black Queens trip for April 12 Morocco friendly

The Black Queens of Ghana – Sunday morning – left Accra for Rabat with 21 players to face Morocco in what is now a one-off international friendly scheduled for April 12.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) earlier announced that the senior women’s national team were to travel and play the Atlas Lionesses in two games.

But that arrangement no longer holds as the Moroccans opted to play Gambia on one of the dates instead  – a game they won 6-1 on April 7.

Next up for the 2022 Women’s Afcon hosts is a date with Ghana scheduled for the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday night. Kickoff is 22:00 GMT.

Coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo’s Queens have no immediate assignment after failing to qualify for the upcoming 2022 Women’s Afcon scheduled for July 2-23. This will be the team’s first game since October when they failed to beat rivals Nigeria for a ticket to the tournament.
