Bechem United and leaders Asante Kotoko fought out a 0-0 draw in an entertaining 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 19 clash at Fosu Gyeabour Park on Tuesday.
It was the second time the Hawks failed to score at least a goal in 9 home matches so far.
Both sides created good scoring chances with the hosts coming very close on the stroke of halftime but goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim did well to save an effort by striker Emmanuel Avornyo.
The odd side of the match was a 22nd-minute incident in which Bechem centre-back Samuel Osei Kuffour unsportingly decided to stamp on the shoulder of Kotoko’s Cameroon import Franck Theirry Etouga Mbella on the blind side of the referee.

Just like the first, the second half was not bereft of many scoring opportunities for either side.
Goalkeeper Danlad came to the rescue of the Porcupine Warriors denying the likes of substitute Hafiz Konkoni and former player Augustine Okrah with some impressive point-blank saves late on.
The 0-0 result was a welcome one for visitors Kotoko who have only lost once on the road, drawing and winning four times each.
Asante Kotoko remain top of the league with 41 points, 10 ahead of Bechem United who drop to fourth after 19 games.
