Afcon 2021: Baba Iddrisu out of Ghana vs Comoros with hamstring injury

Ghana will be without Baba Iddrisu for their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) final Group C match against Comoros Tuesday night.

The Real Mallorca midfielder has sustained a hamstring injury and will not play in the fate decider.

Baba came off worse in a challenge in the Ghana box and had to be substituted in the 65th minute of the Black Stars’ 1-1 draw with the Panthers of Gabon last Friday.

‘’The scan results revealed Oedema in his hamstring and so at the moment he can’t play against Comoros on Tuesday,” Black Stars Team Doctor Adam Baba told ghanafa.org after returning from the Garoua Military hospital on Monday.

After picking just a point from two games, Ghana must beat the Comorans at all cost to secure passage into the Round of 16 of the ongoing 33rd edition of the Afcon in Cameroon.

Ghana will face off with Comoros at Stade Roumdé Adjia in Garoua. Kickoff is 19:00 GMT.
