I wasn’t satisfied with the performance – Kotoko coach Narteh Ogum

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum criticized the performance of his team despite beating Legon Cities to end a three-game winless run on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors registered a 2-1 victory over the Royals in their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 9 clash at Dawu Park.

Cameroonian Franck Etouga Mbella struck a brace for Kotoko while Abdul Rahman scored in between for the hosts.

In a post-match reaction, coach Narteh Ogum showed displeasure at the team’s failure to impose their game on the day.

“I wasn’t satisfied with the performance of the team. If you look at the way we played, that is not typically how we play.

“When we scored, we were playing better. But because the goal we conceded was bad, it just took the zeal out of our team and basically it made us a bit disjointed,” he said.

The Kotoko gaffer stressed that his side’s reaction after Legon Cities equalized was poor and it had to take his second-half team talk to help them win.

“When we went into the dressing room I told them those things happen in the game, and we need to put our pieces together, so in terms of performance-wise, I wasn’t happy with the way we played after we conceded.”

Asante Kotoko will next host WAFA SC – a side Narteh Ogum ditched to join the club just few months ago – at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Boxing Day.
