Dreams FC showed recovery to record their first win of the season by beating Elmina Sharks 3-1 at Ndoum Sports Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match-day 2 victory gives the ‘Believers’ their first three points of the campaign after a late capitulation against Asante Kotoko in their opening match.
Dreams FC took the lead in the 24th minute through striker Agyenim Boateng Mensah‘s solo goal.
New signing Kwaku Karikari – who was handed his first start – doubled the lead for the visitors two minutes later.
Elmina Sharks then responded in the second half. And they converted a spot-kick through Adu-Kwaw Boadi to halve the deficit in the 77th minute.
Dreams extended their lead courtesy of an Abdul Fatawu Issahaku effort from a set-piece six minutes to the end of the game. It is the youngster’s second of the season.
The game ended 3-1 in favour of the Believers.
Dreams FC will host Accra Lions while Elmina Sharks play as guests to Bechem United on match-day three next weekend.
