Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac has explained his squad selection criteria.
The Serbian trainer was speaking at his squad announcement press briefing for Ghana’s final leg of games in Group G of the African qualifiers to the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
Second-placed Black Stars are set to play Ethiopia (away) and South Africa at home in fate-defining games on November 11 and 14.
Rajevac announced a 28-man squad on Friday and was asked about how he settled on his choices.
“It is important that every player must meet my requirements.
“It is important to have competition, I must have at least two players for each position,” the Black Stars gaffer responded through his translator.
“Each position has different requirements, and if the player can deliver, contribute, and meet my expectations. Then the player can be invited to the national team,” Rajevac added.
The latest Black Stars squad included two debutants – Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan and Edmund Addo – while striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom makes a return after three years alongside Abdul Ganiyu Ismail, Mubarak Wakaso, Manaf Nurudeen and Andy Yiadom who were absent from the October batch of qualifiers.
