Boakye-Yiadom makes Black Stars return after 40 months

Beitar Jerusalem striker, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom returns to the Black Stars squad for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.

The former U-20 star was last involved with the Ghana senior national team in December 2017 when he cameoed in a 1-1 draw at home to Egypt in the qualifiers to the 2018 World Cup.

Boakye-Yiadom has been named in Milovan Rajevac’s team for the crucial qualifiers that could see Ghana book a ticket to the tourney in Qatar.

He joins Benjamin Tetteh, Caleb Ekuban and teen sensation Felix Afena-Gyan as the striker for the Black Stars.

Boakye Yiadom was part of the Black Satellites that finished third at the Fifa U20 World Cup in 2013.

Ghana plays away to Ethiopia in South Africa before welcoming the Bafana Bafana at Cape Coast on November 11 and 14 respectively.
