GFA announces Tempo Sport as new official match ball supplier for GPL, others

Tempo Sport has been unveiled as the new official ball supplier to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) and other competitions.

The new match ball provider is an Austrian trademark, registered worldwide, and approved with FIFA Quality Pro, the world’s highest football certification standard.

Through its local agency, Procal Links signed a partnership with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the domestic topflight competition and cup tournaments for the next three football seasons.

Alhaji Alhassan Muntala Haruna, the CEO of Procal Links, Tempo Sport’s agent in Ghana stated at the launch of the 2021/22 season on Tuesday:

“We are delighted to announce our additional partnership of Tempo Sport as the official match ball for Ghana Premier League for three seasons starting the 2021/22 [campaign]…

“Tempo is one of the world’s most advanced sports brands…

“We have been in good communication with the GFA for a few months now cocreating an absolute turning football with a unique logo of Ghana, specially designed for Ghana with precise process taking place in our creative hub in Austria and Egypt for the good of the GFA.”

He added: “We are also currently in discussion with the GFA for more partnerships that we shall announce in time very soon…

“We are delighted to be part of straightening the Ghanaian-Austrian business and political relations.”

At the season launch, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) unveiled a branded Tempo Blaze Elite ball expected to be used across all the Leagues for this season.

Out of a 5,000-ball package for the year, each Premier League club is entitled to 40 which have already been supplied for the season – 30 of which are purposely for training with the remainder for match days.

The ball will debut on Friday evening when the new season commences with the Premier League match between Accra Lions and Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Tempo Sport replace Macron balls which were used last season.
