#FootyTransfers: Berekum Chelsea confirm Ushau Abu sale to Hearts

Berekum Chelsea have confirmed the transfer of midfielder Ushau Abu to Ghana Premier League champions Hearts of Oak.

The Phobians moved in late in the transfer window for the 22-year-old defensive midfielder after attempts to get star man Benjamin Afutu to commit to a new contract failed.

Afutu eventually opted for a new challenge in Egypt with El Sharkia Dokhan FC, forcing Hearts to raid the Bibires for the services of the former Wa Suntaa FC captain.

“Berekum Chelsea FC and Hearts of Oak have agreed on the transfer of USHAU ABU.

“Our club thanks the player for his professionalism and exemplary conduct throughout his two seasons representing our colours, during which time he has won many individual honours.

“Berekum Chelsea FC would like to express their gratitude to USHAU ABU and wish him the best of luck in this new stage of his career.

“Berekum Chelsea will always be your home,” a publication on the website of the Golden City Park outfit Tuesday read.

Ushau Abu made 26 appearances in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League for Berekum Chelsea.
