2021/22 season: Registration window extended till October 23

GPL, Division One and Women’s Premier League clubs now have the luxury of two more weeks to seal their transfer businesses.

The deadline for the registration of players in three competitions in the 2021/22 Ghana football season has been moved forward by two weeks – to October 23.

The transfer window was scheduled to close on October 9 but will now shut 6 days to the start of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) campaign.

Clubs in the GPL, Division One League, and the Women’s Premier League are the ones permitted to register players within this period.

The extension was done to allow Ghana to participate in a Fifa pilot program using the “Connect registration system and DTMS/ITMS”.

The pilot will start on Monday, October 11, and end on Saturday, October 23.

The pilot will allow “the GFA and its stakeholders to test and provide feedback to Fifa,” the GFA said in a circular sent to clubs.

It will also allow Fifa to “analyze test results and make the necessary adjustments to further roll out in our association and other associations.”

“It is worthwhile to mention that this pilot will be executed in the Connect registration system and TMS production environments with real registrations and transfers.”
