Forson Amankwah scores and assists in big FC Liefering victory

Young Ghana midfielder Forson Amankwah scored and provided an assist as FC Liefering recorded a sweeping 6-2 victory over SK Rapid Wien II in a match-day 7 fixture of the 2021/22 Austrian 2. Liga Sunday.

The 18-year-old is on loan from giants Red Bull Salzburg who signed him from Ghanaian topflight side WAFA SC last February.

Amankwah took advantage of a loss of the ball by Fabian Eggenfellner. and hit the back of the net in the 22nd minute to double Liefering’s lead,  just three minutes after Luka Reischl had put them ahead in front of their home fans.

Daouda Guindo (39′), Reischi again for his brace (45+1′), Nene Dorgeles (51′) after an Amankwah assist, and a final nail in the coffin from Thomas Schiestl in the 53rd minute were the goals that ensued for Liefering.

Rapid Wien II got their consolation goals through Marko Dijakovic in the 45th and a penalty converted by Nicholas Wunsch 10 minutes from time.

After 7 matches, FC Liefering find themselves in second place with 14 points, 4 behind leaders Austria Lustenau.
