TWO MONTHS MORE: Kotoko have not contacted us about Ganiyu extension – Yusif Chibsah

Asante Kotoko are yet to enter into renewal talks with influential defender Abdul Ganiyu Ismail despite entering the final months of his contract with the club, his agent claims.

The centre-back’s current deal with the Reds ends in October this year but his representatives are yet to be notified of any extension.

Yusif Alhassan Chibsah, the owner of Club Consult Africa which represents Ganiyu revealed the current state of the player to Pure FM.

“Kotoko has not contacted us on Ganiu’s stay, whether renewal or departure. His contract ends in October.

“Maybe he will stay, maybe he will move on but everything depends on Asante Kotoko so we can only wait for them,” he stated.

Ganiu joined Asante Kotoko in 2018 and is now a regular in the Black Stars setup of coach Charles Akonnor.

He will be expected to feature for Ghana against Ethiopia and South Africa in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers in September.
