Legon Cities and King Faisal score late goals in 1-1 draw

Cephas Doku’s first goal of the season helped to salvage a 1-1 draw for Legon Cities against King Faisal Monday.

The Royals endured a frustrating night in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match-day 14 fixture at Accra Sports Stadium.

Midfielder Yakubu Wadudu edged the visitors ahead in the 77th minute.

The goal only briefly looked like it would be enough for Faisal’s fourth win of the campaign.

Legon Cities piled on the pressure and striker Doku – a 46th-minute replacement for Nathaniel Akwah – curled home a sweet leveller with his left foot three minutes after going down.

Doku’s goal extended Cities’ unbeaten run to 5 games since losing at home to Aduana.

Bashir Hayford’s side, however, have now drawn all their last three matches.

The 1-1 result keeps Legon Cities 14th while King Faisal remain second from bottom of the league standings after 14 matches.
