Teenager Duodu scores as Bechem batter Olympics

Bechem United dazzled to secure a 3-1 victory over in-form Great Olympics at home to take third spot after 13 matches in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Sunday afternoon.

15-year-old attacker Clinton Duodu set the tone for a two-goal first-half lead at Fosu Gyeabour Park in the 13th minute by finishing off a one-two passing move with his left foot.

Bechem struck again in the 37th minute with striker Hafiz Konkoni netting his 4th goal of the campaign after shrugging off his markers.

In the second half, Konkoni won a penalty for the Hunters after he was brought down by Olympics keeper Saeed Salifu.

He left the spot-kick duties for his skipper Moro Salifu and the midfielder expertly converted. 3-0 after 84 minutes.

Midfielder Charles Danso Otu, who came on for Olympics in the second half, scored in stoppage time for a consolation, but the damage had been done – the Dade Boys’ unbeaten streak halted at the fifth attempt.

The 3-1 defeat sees Great Olympics drop from 2nd to 4th position on 21 points while Behchem, who are better by one, climb to third place.
