Kyereh on target as St. Pauli fall to Bochum in thriller

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh scored but it was not enough as St. Pauli succumbed to a 3-2 defeat at home to VfL Bochum in the German 2. Bundesliga Thursday night.

St. Pauli took the lead twice but allowed the promotion chasers to claw back and were further undone by a wicked own goal in the second half of the game at Millerntor-Stadion

Guido Burgstaller got the opener as. early as the 4th minute but Simon Zoller equalized for Bochum in the 28th minute.

Kyereh, who has been without a goal in 15 league games, finally ended his drought by restoring the lead for St. Pauli in the 32nd minute.

Zoller, once again, levelled for Bochum just two minutes before halftime.

And the Boys in Brown lacked fortune in the 63rd minute when a shot looked to be heading straight to goalkeeper Stojanović until it took a wicked deflection off defender Daniel Buballa and ended up in the net.

Former Inter Allies midfielder Afeez Aremu came on for St. Pauli in the 70th minute while Ghana international Yusif Raman Chibsah warmed the bench forn Bochum.

The away win keeps VfL Bochum in second position, one point behind leaders Hamburg after 18 matches.
