Interim Asante Kotoko coach, Johnson Smith is focused on his job at the club despite lacking the standard Ghana Premier League coaching certification.
The gaffer holds a Caf License B’ certificate and needs an A’ to coach a Ghana Premier League side.
Smith was assistant to coach Maxwell Konadu but took over as stop-gap coach along with second assistant Abdulai Gazale.
Gazale holds a License A’ and thats what the club uses officially.
“If you know your job as a coach you know; it’s not about having License A. It’s just a requirement so you can coach a Premier or Division One League club.
“For the job, I am capable and know what I’m about, it’s only that I need the A,” Johnson Smith said on Oyerepa FM.
Since the departure of Konadu, Smith has managed Asante Kotoko to wins against Liberty Professionals, Ebusua Dwarfs.
The Porcupines face Aduana Stars on Sunday.
