Legon Cities returned to the bottom of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table after losing 2-1 away to Aduana Stars in a match-day nine fixture Sunday.
Titleholders Aduana struck first through marksman Yayaha Mohammed, who spectacularly fired from distance his fifth goal of the campaign, in the 21st minute.
1-0 the first half ended at Nana Agyeman Badu (NAB) I Stadium.
A dramatic start to the second half ensued with the Royals equalizing and conceding in a space of 4 minutes.
Francis Ado Nuer scored to pegged Legon Cities level just two minutes after restart, giving them hope of a good second half to come.
But the score stayed level for only two minutes as Fatawu Abdul Rahman restored Aduana’s lead after a scramble in the 49th.
The Ogya Boys went back up by 2-1 and the scoreline remained same until the blast of the final whistle.
Aduana Stars are 8th on the league log with 13 points from 9 games. Bottom-placed Legon Cities have 6 points.
