You have to leave the GPL to succeed in life – Gladson Awako

Great Olympics skipper Gladson Awako is advising Ghanaian players to have a career abroad if they aim financial stability.

The midfielder played at Heart of Lions, went to Berekum Chelsea and then left Ghana for DR Congo where he played for TP Mazembe.

After spending five seasons with the African giants, he signed for American side Phoenix Rising before joining Olympics last season.

“It is very difficult to play the Ghana Premier League and succeed.

“You look a the prices of land and houses now, I don’t think you can make it playing the Ghana Premier League alone. “he told Asempa FM in an interview.

“You need to travel outside to play good football and make it as well because you have families and friends that you have to feed and help.
