Kotoko-Hilal: Porcupines to exhaust all Caf legal processes

Asante Kotoko are not giving up on their Champions League elimination battle with the Confederation of African Football (Caf).

The Porcupines failed to provide a team for their second leg clash against Al Hilal Omdurman, according to the game’s commissioner Ami Abdi Hassan.

Caf then passed the group stage slot to Hilal and Kotoko are scheduled to face ES Setif in the Confederation Cup.

But acting Communications Manager David Obeng Nyarko has confirmed the club’s intention to continue the legal battle.

“It’s important to exhaust all the legal processes at Caf. Our Petition has been referred to the Competitions Department of Caf and we hope to hear favourably from them.

“Going to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) is one of the options we have.

“We will not let this go, will fight to the later,” he told Oyerepa FM in an interview.

Most stakeholders believe the Reds have to focus on their next continental game against Setif rather than on the legal tussle.

Also, a section of the Porcupines asserts that heading to CAS will affect the club’s finances.

Asante Kotoko claimed a 2-0 win on match-day eight against Liberty Professionals on Monday afternoon.
