Kotoko must be cautious at ‘not-easy-to-play’ Hilal – Papic

Asante Kotoko have a very difficult task of overturning the tide against Sudanese giants Al-Hilal in Omdurman to advance to the 2020/21 Caf Champions League group stage, Kosta Papic the coach of arch-rivals Hearts of Oak has cautioned.

The Ghanaian giants heading into the behind-closed-doors game at Al-Hilal Stadium on Wednesday with a 1-0 deficit, having lost the first leg at home.

Speaking on the chances of Kotoko, Papic, who has immense experience coaching across Africa at clubs like Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Young Africans and Enyimba, urged the Porcupines to be cautious in their approach.

“It is very difficult to play football in Sudan because I’ve played against them [Hilal].

“Kotoko must be cautious because it is not easy to play in Sudan and the worst part of everything is that they lost at home.

But if they manage to score a goal that will be very good for them, everything is possible,” the Serbian told Kumasi FM.

Asante Kotoko are yet to play in the group stage of the elite continental club competition since their last time in 2006.
