Hearts players were shaking despite lead – Papic on mentality

Hearts of Oak coach, Kosta Papic is eager to improve his team’s winning mentality for the upcoming matches in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The Phobians recorded their first victory on Sunday evening, thumping Dreams 3-0 in Accra with an emphatic performance.

As Hearts continue their progress under the new gaffer, fans will certainly await a similar performance of the 2008/09 season wheN they won the league crown – their last of the title to date.

Papic, impressed with the win, hopes his outfit improves their mentality to complement their ambitions in this campaign.

“We are struggling to organize ourselves the way that I want. But at least we got the 3 points, which is very important. Things are coming right and the players are getting the confidence.

“They are leading 2-0 and they start shaking and that is because they don’t have that winning mentality yet. But we’re working on it,” he said after the game.

After recording draws against Ashantigold and Karela United, Hearts suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to Inter Allies.

Now with their first win, the clash against King Faisal on match-day six offers the Rainbow Boys a chance to claim their second this season.
