Beating Great Olympics a big relief – Liberty coach Ocloo

Liberty Professionals coach, David Ocloo has admitted to heaving a sigh of relief after picking their first three points in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Ocloo led his side to a 2-0 win over Great Olympics on match-day five at the Carl Reindorf Park on Sunday.

Liberty had drawn three opening games and suffered defeat at Berekum Chelsea.

“I think it is a hard fought win and I’m really proud of my boys for the victory.

“I will say yes, it is the biggest relief so far because three draws, one defeat and a victory.

“It’s true, it’s the biggest relief because we have been fighting very hard but the win is not forthcoming.

“But against Great Olympics, the gods of football smiled on us and we were able to score two unanswered goals,” Ocloo told Adamu Muftawu.

Liberty Professionals shot themselves into the lead through Simon Appiah who tapped in a cross from Abraham Wayo in the 27th minute.

Wayo fed Appiah again who finished off an attack to make it 2-0 in the 76th minute.

Great Olympics finished the game with ten men as skipper Maxwell Abbey Quaye was shown a second yellow for a bad tackle on Wayo just before halftime break.

Liberty have now gathered six points in five matches.
