Five fixtures in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) have been postponed indefinitely, the GFA has announced.
This has been made necessary by two clashes – the 2020/21 Caf inter-club competitions which have Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold participating and the 2020 Ghana elections slated for December 7.
Kotoko and AshantiGold had their match-day three games against Great Olympics and King Faisal shelved due to their first-leg games in the preliminary round of the Caf Champions League against FC Nouadhibou (1-1) and Salitas FC (0-0)in the Confederation Cup this past weekend respectively.
Both teams go into the second leg in the coming weekend, making it impossible for the GFA to schedule their outstanding games before the time.
Due to this Kotoko and AshantiGold’s GPL match-day four fixtures for the upcoming weekend have also been postponed likewise the Aduana Stars vs Hearts of Oak season opener which had to be called off due to COVID-19 scare.
The GFA says a new date will be communicated in due course.
