REVEALED: Kotoko’s Augustine Okrah joining RS Berkane

Asante Kotoko midfielder, Augustine Okrah has arrived in Morocco to seal a move to 2019/20 Caf Confederation Cup champions RS Berkane, Footy-Ghana.com can confirm.

The former Ghana Premier League golden boot winner is in the fourth month of the final year of this contract with the Porcupine Warriors.

Okrah only rejoined Kotoko in July 2019 after a brief stint in India with NorthEast United.

The 27-year-old’s good showing, though not consistent due to the long COVID-19 break (between March and November), has attracted the interest of the Moroccan topflight side to table an offer enough to lure him from Kotoko.

Both clubs, Footy-Ghana.com have agreed in principle on a transfer agreement subject to Okrah passing a mandatory medical.

Okrah, who featured in Kotoko’s season-opening home draw with Eleven Wonders but picked up a knock that kept him out of the subsequent trip to Berekum Chelsea last Sunday, was permitted to travel to Morrocco to complete his part of the deal this week.

He was first signed by Kotoko at age 17 from then Red Bull Academy. Okrah went on to join Liberty Professionals on loan and then made a permanent switch to Bechem United where he won the GPL golden boot gong before enjoying stints with Sudan’s biggest clubs Al Merreiekh and Al Hilal.

Augustine Okrah also played for Egyptian side Smouha SC prior to moving to India.
