Asamoah Gyan: I am not under pressure to deliver

Asamoah Gyan has ruled out being under any form of pressure to deliver for new side Legon Cities FC in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

THe Royals landed the Black Stars legend on transfer deadline day on a one-year deal with a further option.

Though the figures have been kept under wraps, Gyan’s deal is reportedly the most expensive in the domestic transfer market.

With the buzz surrounding his return after 13years, the Africa all-time World Cup top scorer says he is not under pressure.

“Personally I don’t feel any pressure, I’m just here to enjoy myself.

“I just want to enjoy myself, make the fans happy and help the young ones especially.

“Playing around me is going to push them to do more and the most important thing is me getting fitter so I can deliver.

“Me playing in the Ghana League will bring more exposure since I signed for Legon Cities, it’s out there.

“A lot of players want to come back and play and I know that but we have not seen it yet.

“I’m here to enjoy my football and help as well,” Gyan told Legon Cities TV.

Gyan, 34, left Ghana in 2003 to join Italian side Udinese in his first professional career.

The European journey continued with moves to Modena, Rennes and Sunderland.

A move to Al Ain in the UAE was made permanent after a loan spell before joining Shanghai SIPG and later Al Ahli Dubai.

He returned to Europe with Kayserispor before lastly playing for North EastEnd United in India.
