Isaac Asiamah: Sports Minister promises return of football soon

Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah has revealed that football is close to resuming in Ghana.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) suspended all football competitions after the Ghana government put on hold all public activities.

The local football governing body had to cancel the 2019/20 season on July 31 after talks with the government.

Speaking at the sod cutting for the reconstruction of the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium, the Minister revealed the government’s plan for football resumption.

“The Nana Addo government is doing its best for football to resume soon.

“We are still in arrangements and stakeholders should remain calm.

“Very soon, the President will address the nation again and I know football will return after that.”

For six months, Ghanaian football fans have been served with foreign football action and still await the government’s decision to lift the ban.
