Protect Ghana football from public ridicule – GFA Prez charges

Image is everything, Congress members told.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku has urged with members to reject image-tarnishing fellows who step out to disgrace the federation publicly.

The FA Capo charged that such actions, whether factual or misinterpreted, drags the corporate world away from their product.

President Okraku, speaking at the 26th Ordinary Congress of the Association, said:

“…despite the hardwork done by you and I, there are a few of us who continuously leave their respect for this family and go out to malign our own product.

“We must reject this as a family.

“If I go to Corporate Ghana on daily basis preaching Ghana football and some of us continuously damage the image of the product we tend to love, that will bring money to us and our kids, we must say no to such.

“There is always one football family and we must not have two.

“Let’s learn to go through our laid and respected ways of communication… Hold back negativity in the public space and speak on the platforms we create for ourselves.

“It is fair enough to insult and address me here [at Congress], because this is where we can address our negative issues and not in the public space.

“This is the right place to disagree and agree and not on public,” he urged.

Furthermore, the GFA Chief expressed gratitude to the members who participated in the Congress meeting.

“For all of you who have spent time, left your individual jobs to come here, I salute you.

“For us who are not here today, believe me we are still one family. Let’s come together and build our football.”
