Aduana Stars risk losing key trio

The club has intention to extend their contracts.

Two-time Ghana Premier League Champions, Aduana Stars FC are at risk of losing three first-team stars for nothing.

Long-serving midfielder and captain Elvis Opoku, versatile defender Caleb Amankwah and goalkeeper Joseph Addo are out of contract in the next few months

But the Dormaa-based giants are keen on extending their stay, the club’s Communication Director, Evans Oppong has disclosed.

“We have about three players whose contracts are running out and that is goalkeeper Joseph Addo, Caleb Amankwah and Elvis Opoku.

“As management, we have resolved to talk to them over their contract renewal with Aduana Stars.

“However, the players with their managers have the final say regarding a decision to renew their contract or not.

“We can’t force the players into renewing their deals with the club.

“But we as management are confident that the players will agree to the new deals will table before them in the coming weeks so they extend their stay with us,” he told Akoma FM.

Sources within the club suggest skipper Elvis Opoku is mostly likely to reject an extension as he yearns for a fresh challenge after a six-year stay. His contract ends this November.
