Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for AshantiGold, Emmanuel Frimpong is aiming for the 2020/21 Caf Confederation Cup title.
The Obuasi-based club will represent Ghana in Africa’s second-tier competition following the cancellation of the 2019/20 league season.
“We are going to Africa and come back with victory,” Frimpong said in an interview with Sikka FM.
Ashantigold are yet to begin preparations from the competition, but plans have already been put in place with the team undergoing the COVID-19 test.
The Obuasi based club are waiting for the Ghana government’s approval to begin training after restrictions were eased on youth national teams.
The young football administrator wants football fans to remain calm as they put the pieces together for the upcoming campaign.
“The supporters will understand what we are doing when football fully resumes,” he said.
The Miners were eliminated by Morocco’s RS Berkane in last season’s edition.
On the other hand, Asante Kotoko will feature as Ghana’s choice for the 2020/21 Caf Champions League.
