Kotoko gave me the biggest platform, says Mutawakilu

Enugu Rangers International goalkeeper, Seidu Mutawakilu has named Asante Kotoko as the club that gave him the biggest platform to excel in Ghana.

Mutawakilu happens to be one of the few Ghanaian footballers to enjoy stints with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

Despite failing to command a regular shirt with Kotoko’s senior side, he was a regular with the U-20 before joining Hearts of Oak as a number 1.

Speaking to Adamu Muftawu on Awake TV Sports, the former Dreams FC shot-stopper admits the Kotoko platform gave him a breakthrough.

“Kotoko gave me the biggest platform in my career.

“Through Kotoko, I gained a national team call-up for the 2015 U-20 in Africa Cup of Nations. I was in the U-20 team that went for the Fifa World Cup in 2014 in New Zealand.

“Under the K.K Sarpong administration, we won three Ghana Premier League title.

“So I will say Asante Kotoko gave me the biggest platform,” Mutawakilu stated

Mutawakilu did not take Hearts of Oak out of the equation after representing them at senior level.

The 25-year-old left the Phobians to join Nigerian club Enugu Rangers International of which he extols Hearts for.

“Hearts of Oak gave me the opportunity and the platform to join Enugu Rangers international of Nigeria.

“In that same year before moving to Nigeria, I won the President’s Cup with Hearts.

“That platform gave me the chance to Enugu Rangers International,” Mutawakilu reiterated.

Seidu Mutawakilu spent his formative years in the Bono region before moving down south to Accra to continue with Dreams FC where he stayed for six months.
