Ghana midfielder, Bernard Mensah saw his Besiktas debut end in a crushing 3-1 defeat to Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki on Tuesday.

Besiktas saw their quest for the 2020/21 Uefa Champions League group stage berth dashed at the second qualifying round at the Toumba Stadium in Thessalonica.

Mensah, who joined Besiktas on loan from Kayserispor, played for 69 minutes before he was replaced by Dorukhan Tokoz.

PAOK led with just 7 minutes played in the first half through Christos Tzolis.

Tziolis added the second in the 17th minute after an assist from former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom.

The home side pushed further and found the third goal on the half-hour mark courtesy Dimitrios Pelkas.

Besiktas pulled a goal back through Cyle Larin in the 37th with an assist from Jeremain Lens.
