The former Dreams FC frontman would sign a two-year, $50,000 contract.

Ghana striker, Michael Sarpong has arrived in Tanzania to complete his move to giants Yanga SC.

The 24-year-old landed at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es Salaam Friday afternoon from Rwanda where he had been playing for Rayon Sport since 2018.

Sarpong is a free agent after having his contract terminated in April over an alleged act of misconduct towards Rayon’s club President.

The former Dreams FC frontman would sign a two-year, $50,000 contract with Yanga.

Sarpong held talks with arch-rivals Simba SC before settling on a move to the 24-time Tanzanian champions.

Simba SC are signing another Ghanaian attacker just weeks after losing Bernard Morrison who left on a sour note to join Simba. They have also signed former Asante Kotoko forward Songne Yacouba on a free.

Rwanda Spell

Michael Sarpong, having joined Rayon Sport in summer 2018, enjoyed a successful first season where he scored 16 goals to help them win the 2018/19 Rwanda Premier League.

Earlier this year, Sarpong went on trial at Changchun Yatai FC in China, but his chances of a deal was scuttled by the COVID-19 pandemic that had already taken another step in the country.
