No wrongdoing: Tanzania FA sanctions Bernard Morrison to Simba move

But the Ghanaian has to return $25,000 to former club and rivals Yanga SC.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has cleared Ghana forward Bernard Morrison to feature for champions Simba SC.

Simba, on Saturday, August 8, announced the free agent signing of the former AshantiGold player after he run down his six-month contract with arch-rivals Yanga SC.

But Yanga, who believed they had Morrison sign a two-year extension few months ago, reported the player to the TFF for breach of contract, at the same time accusing Simba of tapping up.

After a sitting on Wednesday, the TFF cleared the attacker of any wrongdoing.

However, Morrison has been directed to refund Yanga $25,000 to be fully cleared and be allowed to turn out for the 21-time league champions.

Yanga believed to be dissatisfied by the TFF ruling and intend to challenge it even at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Morrison delighted

“I am here with you [Simba supporters] because from today [Wednesday] … I am officially a Simba player.

“I hope you guys will welcome me and love me the way you love your players because I am very happy to join your club and I am hoping to make you guys happy,” the 27-year-old told the club’s media team.

Morrison’s discipline recently came into question recently when he walked off the stadium during an FA Cup game between Yanga and Simba after being substituted but he has hinted on turning a new leaf.

“So can you please accept me in your homes, I am going to respect this club and every supporter, respect the management and make you guys happy,” he stated.

Bernard Morrison is expected to feature prominently for Simba SC as they seek to once more successfully defend their league title and also do well in the 2020/21 Caf Champions League.
