Tekpetey marks Ludogorets league debut with defeat

Ghana forward, Bernard Tekpetey tasted defeat with PFC Ludogorets on the opening day of the 2020/21 Bulgarian Parva Liga Saturday.

Tekpetey started but had a debut to forget as Botev Vratsa battered the defending champions 3-1 in a rain-soaked clash at home – Stadion Bristol Brotev.

Ludogorets had to play almost an hour with ten men after received the marching orders in the 34th minute for a second yellow card offence.

Valerie Domovchiyski struck on the 43rd minute for Botev with Daniel Genov increasing the tally on the 47th minute. 2-0.

22-year-old Tekpetey had to be replaced by Dominik Yankov in the 59th minute.

But the tactical decision did not stop Botev who found their third goal through Petar Atanasov in the 82nd minute.

Ludogorets pulled a consolation from the spot in the 90th minute from Cauly Oliveira Souza.

PFC Ludogorets next play their first home game of the season against Slavia Sofia on Friday, August 14.
