Ethiopian League has improved my game – Kweku Andoh

Defender Kweku Andoh says he has seen a dramatic improvement in his game since moving to the Ethiopian League.

The former Hearts of Oak player left the Phobians for Ethiopian club Dedebit in 2016.

Andoh, in an interview with Adamu Muftawu, revealed that the Ethiopian League has helped in shaping his footballing technique.

“I played for Hearts of Oak and looking at my form now, I can say I have improved since moving to play in Ethiopia.

“I used to employ rough tactics while in Ghana but I have really polished my game since I moved to Ethiopia. I am more technically and physically intelligent than before.

Andoh was part of the twelve players who pleaded with the Ghana government in a viral social media video to airlift them from Ethiopia to Ghana due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The former Berekum Chelsea man has been recounting the negative impact of the pandemic on his career.

“I have really been affected by the COVID-19, to be honest.

“Everything came to a standstill and that affected our finances drastically. Our fitness levels went down as a result but I kept training to keep shape.

“Even when we arrived in Ghana it affected our relationship with our families. The Coronavirus really affected me while in Ethiopia,” Andoh stated.

After a short stint with Dedebit, he signed for another Ethiopian outfit, Mekelle 70 Enderta where he won the 2018/2019 Ethiopian Premier League.

Kweku Andoh, who is on the books of Ethiopian side Dire Dawa City Sports club, played for Hearts of Lions and Berekum Chelsea before joining Hearts of Oak.
