GPL: Aduana boss rubbishes naysayers

Aduana Stars coach Nurudeen Ahmed has said that there is still a lot of football to be played in the Ghana Premier League and his team Aduana Stars will compete strongly.

The former league champions were beaten 2-0 by Inter Allies on Match Day One. Some observers found the result surprising especially after Aduana Stars brought in players like Noah Martey and Zakaria Mumuni. But Nurudeen Awudu is confident his team will get a good result in the second week.

“There are so many matches ahead of us in the season. We just need to stay focused and re-strategise. We will psyche the boys up and let them know we can put the loss behind us and work towards winning ways.”

Ahmed also stated that his team lacked an edge because of the delay in the start of the league.

“The delay affected us because we could not play some of the high-profile friendlies we had arranged. As a coach, you pick players and they lose form due to the inactivity. These things influenced the result against Inter Allies.”

Aduana Stars play against Wa All Stars on Match Day 2 of the Ghana Premier League.
