After receiving the all-clear to return to camp, the Ghana U-17 female team, Black Maidens will be opening camp on August 1, Footy-Ghana.com gathers.

The team had to be disbanded in March following an indefinite suspension of football activities as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

But after over four months, Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo, as part of his ease of restrictions address on Sunday, July 26, announced that the Maidens can resume preparations for their upcoming international assignments but “must observe strictly all protocols issued by government, Caf and Fifa against COVID-19.”

Black Maidens head coach, Baba Nuhu Mallam is expected to announce his squad anytime soon with the team scheduled to open camp on August 1.

The Winneba Sports College, sources indicate, could be used by the team as training base.

Their traditional camping base, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence facility in Prampram, is not available as it is currently being used as a COVID-19 isolation centre by government.
