Gyasi nets in Spezia home defeat

Ghana forward, Emmanuel Gyasi found the net for Spezia Calcio but they lost 2-1 at home to Pisa in the Italian Serie B on Monday.

The 26-year-old has been a key cog in Spezia’s attacking line since joining them on loan from Sudtirol.

Gyasi netted Spezia’s opener on the 26th minute after picking up Antonino Ragusa’s assist.

Spezia could not hold on to Gyasi’s slim 1-0 lead which they gave away from Michele Marconi’s 38th-minute strike to put the game one apiece.

Back from half time, both sides were determined to at least take home a point but Pisa had other ideas.

The visitors shot themselves into the lead on the 85th minute from Michele Marconi to make life difficult for Spezia.

Gyasi, who saw full time, was yellow-carded on the 87th minute to further deepen the woes of Spezia.

Notwithstanding Spezia’s home defeat, they still occupy the promotion play-off zone on 4th with 50 points after 31 matches.
