Kwame Kyei retained to lead 9-member Kotoko Board

Business mogul, Dr. Kwame Kyei has been retained as Asante Kotoko Board Chairman.

Dr. Kyei will lead a 9-member board named by Manhyia after weeks of deliberations over the way forward for the club.

Asante Kotoko have been in the news lately for the wrong reasons following rumors that Manhyia had sacked Doctor Kyei who served as Executive Chairman for a 3-year mandate from 2016.

The oil magnate had earlier submitted his report to the owner of the club, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II for review after his 3-year tenure.

The 9-member board to be headed by Kwame Kyei include, Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, Jude Arthur who served on Dr. K.K Sarpong and Paul Adu-Gyamfi’s board, Kwasi Osei Ofori, Alhaji Lamine, Kwamena Mensah who is a corporate lawyer, Joseph Yaw Adu, Evelyn Nsiah Asare who lost the GFA Executive Committee slot to Habiba Atta and Ankobeahene, Baffour Kwame Kusi.

The 9-member board is tasked to revive the fortunes of the Porcupine Warriors who have lost some shine in recent years.

Kotoko have not made the group stage of the Caf Champions League since 2007. They, however, managed to reach the group phase of the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup.
