Elmina Sharks attacker Benjamin Bernard Boateng continued his stellar form by securing a 1-0 Ghana Premier League coastal derby win over Ebusua Dwarfs at Nduom Park on Wednesday.
After initially scoring in back-to-back games on match-day 4 and 5, the 19-year-old is on a new run – as he’s struck five times in three successive 2019/20 GPL games and now tallies 7 – four behind leader and Inter Allies winger Victorien Adebayor in the scoring chart.
Boateng’s latest goal – his seventh of the season – was recorded as early as the 7th minute of the derby between the two Cape Coast clubs.
It proved crucial as Elmina Sharks rode on it to register back-to-back home wins for the first time this campaign after initially drawing their opening four games at the Nduom Park.
Elmina Sharks are currently 5th on the league log with 17 points while Dwarfs place 16th on 10 points from 11 matches.
