Each club in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League (GPL) is to receive $30,000 from the StarTimes broadcast rights deal for the ongoing this season.
This was made known when the Ghana Football Association (GFA) engaged the 18 clubs in a meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Issues discussed at the meeting included officiating, the StarTimes broadcast rights deal, integrity amongst others.

The GFA announced that: “Premier League clubs were informed that the total amount expected from StarTimes for the 2019/20 season is $700,000 out of which each Club will receive an amount $30,000 (18 X30 Clubs = $540,000).
“The remaining amount will be used to partially support administrative, the merit awards for positioning on the league table and officiating expenses.
“Clubs were also officially informed that the total cost of officiating for the season (Referees and Match Commissioners) = GH¢1,377,000.”
In January this year, the GFA announced awarding the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup TV rights to StarTimes in a deal worth $5.25 million for the next five years.
