Jordan Ayew scores for Palace in heroic fightback against Arsenal

Ghana striker, Jordan Ayew scored as Crystal Palace secured an impressive come-from-behind 2-2 draw away to Arsenal in the Premier League Sunday.

The Eagles had trailed by two goals after just nine minutes, with Nicolas Pepe’s corners causing trouble in the defensive lines allowing Sokratis and then David Luiz to scuff home from close range.

However, a VAR-awarded penalty kick-started the comeback with captain Luka Milivojevic firing home his fourth penalty in six Premier League appearances against the Gunners.

And an early second-half header from Jordan Ayew saw Palace deservedly level – 2-2 on 52 minutes.

The goal against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium is Ayew’s fourth in the 2019/20 Premier League.

Both teams had chances to secure all three points, with Arsenal’s Sokratis having a late goal ruled out after VAR spotted fouls by Calum Chambers and Alexandre Lacazette in the goalmouth scramble that led to the defender’s goal.
