Veteran football administrator, Madam Habiba Attah Forson has been voted onto the new Ghana Football Association Executive Council after a keenly contested election Thursday.
She will represent women’s football on the standing committee of the football governing body.
Habiba Attah polled 8 votes to beat Evelyn Nsiah Asare – who had 7.
Rosalind Amoh picked only a vote, with Edna Quagraine drawing blank.
Habiba Attah’s victory could be said to be a reward for decades of hard work and dedication.
She is credited with the establishment of the Ghana senior women’s national team – Black Queens – which she served as the Welfare Officer during their first World Cup in 1999.
Madam Habiba Attah owns the oldest existing women’s football club in the country – Fabulous Ladies. It was formed in 1985.
She is set to be the only woman on the 12-member Executive Council which will be in office for the next four years.
