BREAK: 2019/20 Ghana football season to kick off Nov. 3

The Normalization Committee for the Ghana Football Association has set November 3 as date for the commencement of the 2019/20 domestic season.

In a draft calendar sent to Premier and Division One League clubs Friday evening, the NC proposed October 14 for the registration of players and officials to commence while the transfer window is to shut December 30.

Submission and inspection of venues by clubs and the Club Licensing Manager (CLM) is to take place between October 15 and 30. During that periods the list of Referees and Match Commissioners for the 2019/20 season would be determined and followed by a CMS Workshop for the officials.

A new president and Executive Council for the Ghana Football Association are expected to be sworn in at the upcoming October 25 Elective Congress.

The Normalization Committee meanwhile has included in the Congress agenda, the official truncation of the 2017/18 League Season which ended abruptly after the Anas corruption exposé.

Also, the new GFA administration, per the draft calendar, is to organize a meeting with clubs on their first day at work – Monday, October 28 – to pave way for the start of the Ghana Premier and Division One Leagues that weekend – November 3, 2019.

The 2019/20 Ghana Football season will run for 34 weeks and is expected to end Sunday, June 14, 2020.
