Caf CC: RS Berkane sack coach ahead of AshantiGold clash

AshantiGold’s Caf Confederation Cup opponents, RS Berkane of Morocco have terminated the contract of head coach Mounir Jaouani following a shock Cup exit on Saturday.

The Orange club were beaten 5-4 on penalties in the Throne Cup by second-tier side CA Khenifra after giving away a 2-0 lead.

The 51-year old experienced trainer was shown the exit on Monday by the eliminated defending champions, some 12 days to their Caf Confederation Cup first leg clash against AshantiGold.

Berkane are expected to name a new coach to head their technical team as they prepare for their trip to Obuasi.

The Miners will host the first leg of the crucial encounter on September 14. The return leg is set for a fortnight later.
