Jordan Ayew completes permanent move to Crystal Palace

Ghana international, Jordan Ayew has officially joined Crystal Palace from Swansea City on a permanent deal.

The 27-year-old striker played for the Eagles on loan during the 2018/19 season and scored once in 22 appearances.

Though Ayew’s numbers for Palace was not encouraging, the permanent move comes as no surprise as he settled into life at the Selhurst Park late in the season. He showed great form for Ghana at the recently held Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and scored two great goals in four matches.

Crystal Palace announced Ayew’s permanent signing on a three-year contract Thursday morning.

Speaking on his deal, an excited Ayew said: “I am very happy [to have returned]. I really enjoyed myself last season.

“I enjoyed the stadium, the fans, the boys – they were really good to me – everything here was positive and that’s why I decided to continue with Crystal Palace.”

Manager Roy Hodgson said: “We are delighted to secure Jordan’s services for another three seasons at Crystal Palace. He has proved himself as a dedicated and hard-working member of the squad, and certainly played his part in the club securing its highest ever Premier League points tally in the last campaign.”

Jordan Ayew has exactly 100 Premier League appearances and 16 goals under his belt and will be hoping for a successful spell in the red and blue shirt from now until summer 2022.
