#FootyTransfers: Cofie signs for Sivasspor

Ghana midfielder Isaac Cofie, on Wednesday, sealed a move to Sivasspor Kulubu in the Turkish top-tier.

The move by the 27-year-old brings to an end his stint with Spanish second-tier side Sporting de Gijon after just one season.

Cofie penned a two-year contract with an option for a further 12 months.

He becomes the sixth signing by Sivasspor this summer, joining the likes of Muammer Yildirim, Mamadou Samassa, Aaron Appindangoye, Caner Osmanpasa and Marcelo Goiano.

Last season, Cofie made 29 appearances for Sporting de Gijon – 25 of which were in the LaLiga 1|2|3 as well as 4 Cup games. The defensive midfielder scored once.

Isaac Cofie started his professional career in Italy where he enjoyed a long spell playing for clubs like Genoa; Turin, Piacenza, Sassuolo, Verona and Carpi before deciding to change environment by moving to Sporting Gijon in Spain last season.
