Dominic Eshun: Karela, Hearts finally formalize winger’s transfer

Hearts of Oak can now legally call teenage winger Dominic Eshun their bonafide player.

The Phobians entangled themselves with an illegal signing of the right winger who was contracted to fellow Premier League side Karela United in December last year.

Enraged by the development, Karela called the attention of Hearts but fell on deaf ears, leaving them to report the club to the Ghana FA. Later in May this year, Hearts were found guilty as charged by Karela with Eshun directed to revert to the Aiyinase-based club.

Fast-forward Monday, July 15 both Hearts and Karela went to the negotiation table and held proper transfer talks over the 19-year-old.

“Yes, they [Hearts] finally did the right thing [paying a transfer fee]. We concluded a deal not long ago,” Karela United’s Communications and Business Development Director, Eric Alagidede told Footy-Ghana.com.

The “long term contract” Eshun agreed with Hearts last year can now take legal effect.

Dominic Eshun featured 7 times (4 starts) for Karela in the first round of their debut campaign in the abandoned 2017/18 Ghana Premier League.
