Four-time champions Ghana, Friday morning, arrived in Egypt for their 22nd appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 32nd edition of the continent’s flagship football tournament kicks off with the hosts entertaining Zimbabwe in the opening match in Cairo Friday night.

The Black Stars landed at Cairo airport before mid-day from Dubai where they held their training camp and will be based in the city of Ismailia for their first two games.
Team captain Andre Ayew received a welcome plague from the Egypt 2019 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) on behalf of the team on arrival.

Housed in Group F, Ghana’s first game is against West African neighbours Benin at the Ismailia Stadium on Tuesday, June 25.
The Black Stars’ group fixtures is complete with ties against Cameroon and Guinea-Bissau on June 29 and July 2 respectively.
Coach Kwasi Appiah oversaw a smooth training camp with the Black Stars and hopes the positive energy within the team can propel the players to achieving the target of ending a 337-year Nations Cup trophy drought this time at Egypt 2019.
Ghana played two training matches before heading for the Afcon – first a 1-0 defeat to Namibia and the barren draw with South Africa last Saturday.
